Silvestre Baca

1934- 2026 Silvestre Baca, age 91 entered his eternal rest on April 6, 2026. Born to Jose Ynes and Josephita Trujillo Baca, on April 20, 1934 in Jarales, NM. Services will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, beginning with a Visitation at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Rosary at 10:00 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. On May 4, 1957 he married the love of his life Lourdes Sanchez Baca. Together they were blessed with six children. Silvestre known as "Silver" grew up in Jarales, NM. He was a farmer where his four-acre garden at fifteen years old won first in the state of NM. Silvestre retired from the middle Rio Grande Conservancy where he worked from 1975-1990. He was a quiet, gentle, kind hearted man, always willing to help anyone. Silvestre was a life long Dallas Cowboys fan. We will miss him greatly, but I am sure he is on his journey to his heavenly home. He was a preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Lourdes Baca; daughter, Mary Katherine Baca; great granddaughter Lucy Rowe, Gracie, Lorenzo, and Daniel Bojorquez; his parents, Jose Ynes and Josephita Baca; his in laws, Pablo and Manuelita Sanchez; siblings, Epyfania, Amelia, Celestina, Abelio, Hilario, Mathias, Mauricio, Mike and his twin brother Bernardo. He is survived by his children, Theresa, Michael Baca, Janet Garcia (Steve), Jerry Baca (Elizabeth), Mary Jo Baca (Paul); grandchildren, Desiree, Ashlee, Tyrone, Jeremy, Anthony, Julia, Anna Maria, Kimberly, Christopher, Karisa, Bernadette, Sarah, Mary, Rebecca, Paulette and Joseph. He had 38 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren, niece, Lilly Chacon who he considered a sister and sister Estella Chavez. Special thanks to the High Desert Hospice team, Olivia, Terry, Larissa and the rest of the Hospice team. Thank you to Mario Baldonado for praying with him every day.
