Peter Kenneth Garley

1959-2014 Peter Kenneth Garley, age 54, a resident of Los Lunas, NM and a member of San Clemente Parish, was granted his angel wings on Friday, July 11, 2014. His final days were spent surrounded by his loving family. Peter fought a brave and courageous battle and never gave up hope. To the very end, this gentle giant of a man kept smiling and had that contagious sparkle in his eyes. In life, Peter’s passion was attending sports that his sons were involved in. On Friday night’s you could almost always count on finding him at the Tiger Stadium watching and cheering the Tiger team to victory. Peter was an avid Miami Dolphin fan. One of his biggest treasures in life was receiving a team football signed by the Dolphin team and receiving a phone call from one of the players. One of his last requests was that he be buried in his Dan Marino throwback jersey. He was preceded in death by his father, Ross Garley; sister, Monica Sublett; brothers-in-law, Arlen Romero and Leroy Vaisa; and sister-in-law, Margaret Garcia. Peter is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Martha Garley; three sons, Dominic, Derrick and Jeremy and wife, Kaytlin; mother, Dolores Garley; mother-in-law, Soila Moya; brothers, Russell and wife, Stacy, Martin, Donald and wife, Della; brother-in-law, Warren Sublett; sisters-in-law, Lillian Romero, Betty Lovato and husband, Jose, Yvonne Sanchez and husband, James; and brothers-in-law, Morris Vaisa and Roland Vaisa and wife, Rosemary. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. All services will be held at the San Clemente Catholic Church, beginning with a Viewing on Monday, July 14th at 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Final Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15th at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Garley, Martin Garley, Donald Garley, Morris Vaisa, Roland Vaisa, Jose Lovato, Joshua Vaisa and Salomon Baca. Honorary Pallbearers will be Blaine Garley, all his many loving nephews, nieces, great-nephews and great-nieces.
