Myles L. Sanchez

1983-2018 Myles L. Sanchez, age 35, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 3, 2018, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by Rose Moya (Great-Grandmother), Leo Sanchez (Grandfather), Estanislado “Tiny” Padilla (Grandfather), Lucy Padilla (Grandmother), Lynn Miller (Grandfather), Mary Ellen Miller (Grandmother) and many uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved him. Myles is survived by his loving parents, Larry and Marilyn Sanchez, sister, Leslie (Andrew) Russel, niece, Kendal, fiancé, Jazmine Goodman, Godparents, Greg Padilla and Debbie Leach, and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and his faithful dog Chaco “Mr. Stinky”. Honorary Urn Bearers will be all his friends who loved him. He was homeschooled before attending and graduating from New Mexico State University with a degree in English. Myles worked a number of jobs throughout his life, but his most favorite was teaching at St. Mary’s School. He was beloved by all his students who fondly referred to him as “Coach.” Myles loved to travel and meet new people and was always up for an adventure. He traveled extensively from Canada through South America. He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan, who loved watching their games with his family. In the last five months of his life, he was the happiest that anyone had ever seen him, because he had met the love of his life, “princess” Jazmine. Although they were only blessed with a short amount of time together, Myles’ family watched them love each other with more love than most people know in a lifetime. Besides Jazmine, the other great love in Myles’ life was his favorite niece, Kendal “Kennie Beans”. They shared a mutual love of adventure and laughter that will never be forgotten. For most of you that knew him, you knew his nickname was “Myles above ordinary” or “Myles of Smiles”. He was one of the most fun, outgoing and cheerful people that this world will ever know. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank the staff of the Medical ICU at UNMH for their dedication to providing loving care to Myles in his final days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Myles’ name to the New Mexico Dream Center in Albuquerque. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, October 6, 2018, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Our Lady of Belen New Parish Center located at 101-A, N 10th Street (corner of 10th and Church), Belen, NM 87002.
