Michael Sandoval Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1979-2020 Michael "Mikey" Sandoval, age 41, of Belen, NM, unexpectedly passed away due to Covid-19 on December 7, 2020. Mikey was preceded in death by grandparents, Tomas and Nancy Sandoval; grandparents, Jerry and Mary Gonzales; baby sister, Sharon Sandoval; and many aunts, uncles, and family members. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Theresa Sandoval; little sister, Connie and brother-in-law, Richard Chavez and their children, Richard Jr., Alisa, and Lily; little brother, Daniel, sister-in-law, Maria Sandoval and their son, Adam "Zay"; girlfriend, Rebecca Tafoya and his step-children, Marissa, Gabriel, and Navaeh. He was a gentle giant, a big teddy bear. Mikey loved his family so very much. Nothing mattered more to him than spending time with family, whether it was a matanza, hunting, camping, or fishing. Mikey's favorite thing to do was to go hunting with his mom, dad, brother, and sister. He began hunting at a very young age, with many family members, year after year. Mikey was a jack-of-all-trades, but considered himself a welder like his Pops and Grandpa. Mikey did not have children of his own, but built a life with his girlfriend and her three children, whom he loved and cared for immensely. He loved being an uncle and nino to his nieces and nephews. Mikey was loved by everyone and will forever be missed.
