With the heaviest of hearts, we are sad to announce the passing of Margaret Mary Madrid, age 66, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, who passed away on February 9, 2026. A Public Viewing will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome, followed by a Rosary at 11:30 a.m., with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12:00 PM. She is survived by her loving husband, Lawrence "Larry" Madrid; children, Justin (Eunice) and Kailan; grandchildren, Nicholas and Noah Madrid, Demetrio, Tavian, and Milania Pino; Siblings, Walter Hanff and Hariette Wiley; and brothers-in-law, Arturo (Rosa), Gilbert (Nellie), Max, and Ray Madrid (Betty). Margaret was born in Albuquerque, NM. She married Lawrence Madrid of Los Lunas, NM, on June 2, 1979, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Margaret was a woman of strong faith who found peace and comfort through her relationship with Jesus Christ and by attending church regularly. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Sister. Margaret found joy in the simplest of activities. Whether it was taking short rides through town with her husband and two dogs, watching her grandkids play sports, or cuddling on the couch watching football games, she could always turn the average daily experience into an adventure. Margaret looked forward to the warmer months to spend time in the mountains and enjoyed camping and stream fishing in Jemez with her family. Above all, Margaret's greatest joy was to serve. She was a master cook; anything Margaret made always had a taste of home. Never one to measure or strictly follow any recipe, Margaret was able to whip up the most delicious meals with a smile. With a God-given ability to serve and inspiration from her Grandmother, Margaret would become a reputable operating room nurse, spending 40 years caring for others and assisting with multiple daily surgeries. She finished the last 20 years of her career working at the VA hospital, where she proudly cared for our nation's veterans. Margaret expressed her gratitude to our veterans and was honored to care for them on a daily basis. Margaret will be remembered for her immeasurable love for others, warm embraces, infectious laughter, and ability to bring peace and joy to those in her presence.
