Lloyd Earl Mathes

Lloyd Earl Mathes, age 89, a resident of West Bridgewater, Mass., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 9, at Sachem Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in East Bridgewater, Mass.˜ He was the husband of Carmen (Barela) Mathes for 35 years.˜ Earl was born in Colorado and raised in Hugo, Okla., son of the late Everett and Della Davis Mathes and beloved brother of the late Eugene and Edward Mathes. ˜˜He lived in West Bridgewater since 2003, formerly residing in Albuquerque, N.M. for 40 years Earl served with the CC Camps, worked for American National Insurance Company until his retirement of 30 years.˜ Post retirement, he was a school bus driver for 18 years with Saavedra School Bus Company and Blue Sena.˜ In addition, Earl was a proud Mason and Master of the Masonic Lodge #6 in Albuquerque.˜ For many years, he was a proud member of the New Mexico Rangers volunteer law enforcement organization.˜ Earl is survived by his daughter, Nora Bradford and husband, Chip of West Bridgewater; son, Larry Mathes and wife, Becky of Amarillo, Texas; sons, Jerome and Anthony Torres of San Diego, Calif.; daughters, Judy Coulston of Kekaha, Hawaii, Marsha˜ Felts and husband, Stanley of˜ Dallas, Texas and daughter, Susan Torres of Temecula, Calif.˜ He was a loving grandfather of 15 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; special nieces and nephews, Jessey and Margaret Baca, Racheal and Ed Sweeney, Victoria and David Garcia, Ireland Lowe and Logan Sweeney.˜ A memorial Mass was held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in West Bridgewater, at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, Oct. 16.˜ A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 21., with a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m.˜ Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.˜ Urn bearers will be Jerome and Anthony Torres.˜ Honorary Urn bearers will be John Griego, Roger and Andrea Garcia, Joey and Irene Saavedra and the late Joe Robles.˜ The family has entrusted Hamel, Wickens & Troupe Funeral Home in Quincy, Mass., and Romero Funeral Home in Belen, N.M.˜ Condolences may be sent to 22 Brewster Rd., West Bridgewater, Mass., 0.˜˜Sign Earl’s ˜online register book at www.romerofuneralhomenm.com.˜ Romero Funeral Home, 609 N.
