Kenneth Andrews

˜Kenneth Andrews lost his courageous battle with cancer and emphysema at the age of 87 on Sunday, October, 23 surrounded by his loving family. Kenneth was born in Ranger, Texas to William and Georgia Straud Andrews. He and his three brothers were orphaned at an early age and raised at the Boles Orphanage in Quinlan, Texas. At the age of 16 Kenneth left the orphanage and joined the Conservation Corps Camp in Cody, Wyoming. Later on he worked for Universal Construction giving 25 years of service in Albuquerque, NM. He retired in 1987 to spend time with his loving wife, Rose, his family and his farm in Bosque Farms, NM. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ulla May; brothers, Ruppert, Billy and George Andrews; father and mother-in-law, Joe and Mary Cletolde Tafoya; grandson, Richard Moore; sister-in-laws, Irene Padilla and Delores Bean; brother-in-laws, Rev. David Bean and Joe Padilla; and niece, Kenadee Brooke Golliheair. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Rose Tafoya Andrews; stepsons, Steve Moore and wife, Annie of Sylmar, CA and Frank Moore and wife, Valentina of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Gregorio Moore and wife, Elena of Houston, Texas, Samantha Moore of San Francisco, CA and Alyssa Moore of Los Angeles, CA; great-grandson, Micaiah Diego Moore of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Danny Tafoya and wife, Angie of Belen;˜sister-in-law, Betty Andrews of Cumby, Texas; and nephew, Ben Andrews and wife, Linda of El Paso, Texas. ˜The family wishes to thank the loving caregivers from Ambercare for their love and caring they gave to Ken throughout his battle with his illness. Everyone who knew Kenneth was blessed to see what a patient and loving man he was. We are all better people having known and loved him. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Thursday, October 27 beginning with a Viewing at 1:00 p.m. followed with a Rosary to be recited at 1:30 p.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mark and Dale Tafoya, Greg, Alyssa and Samantha Moore, Gary Sanchez and Ken Padilla.
