Jeanette Padilla Wiggins

1948-2020 Jeanette (Padilla) Wiggins, age 72, a resident of Los Lunas NM, joined our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 17, 2020. She was born to Onecima Cordova Padilla and Felipe Padilla. Jeanette grew up in a large family on the farm in Pueblitos, NM. After graduating from Belen HS, she went on to acquire her RN degree from UNM in Alb, NM. Jeanette worked in nursing from a young age and it was her passion as well as her career. She continued working in the medical field up until her illness. Jeanette had a quiet compassionate demeanor which surely served her patients well. Jeanette or “Jay” as she was fondly known to family and friends, was soft spoken, caring and of a gentle nature. She enjoyed various crafting and was an exceptional cook, gardener and seamstress. Jeanette generously gifted family and friends with her lovely quilted handcrafted blankets. Newborns always received their own special cuddly blankets. Jay's family was very important to her. Yearly, she hosted her traditional Thanksgiving dinner (with help from her son Joseph's culinary talents) for her large and extended families. It was always a joyous event, one her family will always lovingly remember her for. Each Christmas loved ones were sure to receive her delicious baked goods and famous salsa. Jay was a kind and gentle soul who was always faithful to our Lord and Savior. She was much beloved and will be greatly missed. Jeanette was preceded in death by her loving parents; husband, Pat Wiggins; six siblings Veronica, Levi, Tony, Philip, Stanley and Carol. Jeanette was a devoted mother and is survived by her loving son Joseph Padilla and was "Jo-shuff" to her beloved grandson Matthew Padilla. Also by her beloved pets. She is survived by six siblings, Evelyn(Johnny) Sanchez, David (Diane) Padilla, Geraldine(Gene) Vessel, Judy(Danny) Barela, Dolores Montoya, Annabelle(Daniel) Torrez. Jeanette is also survived by one Aunt Kela Herrera and several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Services at a later date.
