Glenner Deloris Long

˜Glenner Deloris Long, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Tuesday, April 12. She was born to the late Margret Stringfield and Hank McElroy. Glenner was raised be her grandmother, Mrs. Irene Stringfield, beginning at the age of 6 years old in Orlando, FL. Where at a young age, she accepted the Lord, and was baptized. She graduated from Jones High School of Orlando, She continued to educated herself by graduating from Lincoln Business School in Orlando. Glenner moved to Fairfield, CA with her sister, “Pat”. There she met the love of her life of 40 years her husband, Harvey Long. Together they had four children. With Harvey serving in the military, this opportunity allowed her family to travel all over the world; they lived in West Germany twice, as well as other various places. She loved her family more than words can say, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, her Soap Operas, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed going to the casino to play her favorite slot machines. She worked in Civil Service for many outstanding years, until she had to retire due to illness. Glenner had a longtime battle with Renal Failure. Glenner is survived by her husband, Harvey Long; four children, Carlos P. Long of Belen, Charlene Mitchell-Long of Belen, Denise Long of Jacksonville, IN, Edward Long and wife, Trinity also of Belen; sister, Patricia Pierre of Fairfield, CA; brothers, Calaga T. Stringfield of Houston, TX and Alta Lee McElroy of˜ Orlando; six grandchildren, Malcolm Mitchell, Simone Mitchell, Charmaine Long-Padilla, Kisha Marie Long, Kristina Sena and Kortni Sena; loving sister-in-laws, Blanche Edward, Jacqueline Thomas and Lenora Faye Long; brother-in-law, John Herbert Long, all residing in Lexington, KY; and a host of extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. All services will be held at the Belen Missionary Baptist Church, 300 N. 3rd Street in Belen, on Monday, April 18, beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be held at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 19, at 10:30 a.m. Sign Glenner’s online register book at www.romerofuneralhomenm.com.
