Elizabeth “Lizzy” Dawn Cope, age 38, One of God's Special little Angels went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, March 22, at home with all her loving family at her side. She was a resident of Jarales, NM, where she has lived in the family home for the past 35 years.˜ Lizzy was a resident of the LLHTS when she became the foster child of Tino and Betty in 1976 they later received guardianship of her. Lizzy has shared her love with numerous foster brother and sisters. Thirteen years ago Judy and Juan moved into the family home and have taken care of Lizzy since that time. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Cope; mother, Virginia and a special friend, Frank Baca. Lizzy is survived by Tino and Betty Mascarena and Judy and Juan Gonzales; great-grandmother, Lee Vanna Hodge; grandparents, Ramon and Celia Gonzales;˜ sisters, LeeVanna and Stephanie; brother, Jonathan Mascarena of the family homes; sisters, Ruby Mascarena, Cynthia Aragon and husband, Paul, Barbara Mazon and husband, Robert of Texas, Valerie Lucero and husband, John, Angela Carrasco, Kim Montoya of Oklahoma, Angelica, Sophia Mascarena Adeline and˜ Anistasia Aragon, Kenny Saiz and several nieces and nephews; four very special great nieces, Emily and Anistacia Aragon, Bianka Mazon, Makayla Solis, one great-nephew, Dermarr Lucero; many aunts and uncles and numerous friends and biological father, Frank Cope of Virginia. Lizzy will be missed by everyone she was a special little girl who gave so many people so much love. She loved to have parties and shop at Wal-Mart she had a closet full of clothes. You could be sure to find her on Tuesday morning at the Senior Center to hear the Alegres play. A visitation will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 2:00 p.m. A final visitation will be held at First Assembly of God, 19398 N. Hwy 85 in Belen, on Monday, March 28, at 10:30 a.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Robert Mazon, John Lucero, Paul Aragon, Jonathan Mascarena, Annette Moya and Kenny Saiz. Honorary Pallbearers will be Emily Aragon, Bianka Mazon, Dennarr Lucero, Makayla Solis, Anistacia Aragon and Lee Vanna Mascarena.
