Allen L. Hunter

Allen L. Hunter, age 65, a resident of Belen, NM peacefully passed from this life surrounded by his loving family while sharing stories and laughter on Sunday, December 16, 2012. He was a member of Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene in Los Lunas and a pastor and ordained weslayn minister of the Gospel for 27 years. His entire life was focused and dedicated to God, family and friends. His loyalty created lifelong friends who were here supporting him. Allen proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1970. His children proudly followed in his footsteps. He had a joy for life which he passed on to everyone he knew by his experience, tall tales and silly rhymes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel Ross and Ida Louise Hunter; sister, Barbara Sais; and son-in-law, Randal Scott Harrelson. ˜Allen is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Gloria Hunter; brothers, James Hunter and Robert Hunter; sisters, Evelyn Sutton and Cheryl Brooks; his children son, Daniel and wife, Kim Hunter of San Diego, CA, daughter, Adriane and husband, Ed Jackson of Hillsboro, OR, son, Marcus Hunter of Hemet, CA and daughter, Susanne Harrelson of Eugene, OR; granddaughters, Vanessa Hunter, Dominique Lopez, Brittany Harrelson, Aimee Jackson, Savannah, Sabrina, Alexandra and Bethany Hunter; grandsons, Luke Hunter, Richard , Scotty and Christian Harrelson; and his “hijada”, Andrea Gabaldon. All services will be held at Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene in Los Lunas, on Saturday, December 22, beginning with a viewing at 10:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Casa Colorado Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Daniel and Marcus Hunter, Matthew Marquez, Marvin Gabaldon, Don Yeary, Juan Alacantar and Susanne Harrelson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jim Hunter, Robert Hernandez, Ernie Buerke, Merv Morris and Hayden Parent. The family would like to thank Zia Hospice and nurse Eric, and all our friends at the Social Security TSC and Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene. Also a special thank you to Merv Morris, Bobby Hernandez, Don Yeary and Juan Alacantar for their love and dedication to their friend.
