Reina R. Trujillo

1918-2015 Reina Romero Trujillo, age 96, a lifelong resident of Belen, New Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2015. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Reina was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She had great faith in God’s love and held a deep devotion to the Infant of Prague and to Mary, the Blessed Mother. Many untold sacrifices were made by Reina for her children and grandchildren. Homemaking, cooking and basketball were her favorite pastimes. Reina is preceded in death by her parents, Macario and Serapia Benavidez Romero; husband, Juan D. Trujillo; sisters, Socorra Peralta, Estella Sanchez; brothers, Felipe and Abel; son-in-law, Robert Hawley; father and mother in-law Demetrio and Quirina Flanagan Trujillo; in-laws, Elifas Peralta, Eulogio Sanchez, Mike and Della Trujillo, Ross and Mary Trujillo, Joyce Trujillo; grandson, Frankie Trujillo; and in-law and cousin, Ernest Romero. She is survived by her loving children, Lena Hawley, Frank Trujillo, Betty Sanchez and Paul E. Trujillo; grandchildren, Luke Sanchez (wife, Heather), Theresa Brawley (husband, Theron), Anthony Sanchez, Jennifer Sellars (husband, Ira), Laura Gibbs (husband, Tony), Marie Sanchez and Rebecca Jacquez, Erica Manzanares (husband, Greg), Reina Trujillo, Gabriella Trujillo; 13 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lucy Romero; and brother-in-law, Alex Trujillo. Reina is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 20, 2015, beginning with a public viewing at 8:30 a.m., a rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m., and a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Luke Sanchez, Theresa and Theron Brawley, Anthony Sanchez, Rebecca Jacquez, and Robert Gabaldon.
