Mary H. Sanchez

December 12, 1932 - April 21, 2022

1932-2022 Mary H. Sanchez, age 89, a resident of Valencia, NM, peacefully passed into the loving arms of our Lord on April 21, 2022. She was born in Mills, NM but lived most of her life in Valencia, NM where she shared her love with her family and many friends. Mary loved cooking and was famous for her homemade tortillas, tamales, and biscochitos. She enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and enjoyed a few (as she called it) gurgles now and then. Mary enjoyed interior decorating and had a home-based business as a Home Interiors consultant for over 30 years. She was a lifelong member of the Catholic Church. Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband, Herman Sr.; brothers, Bern and Rudy Arellano; sister, Carrie Martinez; several brothers and sisters -in -law; and her parents, Pete and Rose Arellano. She will be missed by her surviving children, sons, Leonard (Gloria) and Herman Jr. Sanchez; daughters, Pat Baca (James), Barbara Garcia (Gene), and Michelle Sanchez; and many grandchildren, great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. The honor of being pallbearers will be given to Mary’s grandsons, Leonard Jr. and Paul Sanchez, Jimmy Baca Jr., Alfredo and Christopher Garcia, Jerry Lee and Jose Sanchez, and Gregorio Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Little, Andrew Ortega, Mike Martinez, Patrick Arellano, Josh and John Case, and Gilbert Sanchez Jr. A public viewing will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, April 28, 022, at 10:30 a.m., with a rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m., followed by an interment at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery.
