1956-2020 Lydia F. Medina, age 64, a resident of Jarales, NM, passed away on December 17, 2020, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Lydia’s family was the most important thing in her life. Her joy and happiness came from being a daughter, sister, wife, and mother. She touched the lives of everyone that knew her due to her warmth and compassion. Lydia’s loving upbringing resulted in deep seated values which led to her putting other’s needs before her own. This unselfishness led her to having many long-lasting friendships in her life, which she cherished. As a devout Catholic, her faith gave her strength to overcome life’s many trials and tribulations. Because of her loving nature, she will be greatly missed. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Emma Castaneda; father and mother- in- law, Demetrio “Johnny” and Lucila Medina and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her loving husband, David Medina; sons, John and fiancée Brenda, and Carlos; sister, Maria Castaneda-Moya and husband Leo Moya; sisters-in-law, Erlinda (Leroy) Chavez, Theresa Olguin, Diana Mascarenas, Prescilla (Santiago) Camarena; brother-in-law, Pat (Annette) Medina, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. All services will be held on Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the family will not host a reception or social gathering after the services. A memorial will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Leo Moya, Pat Medina, Edwin Padilla, Randy McCloud, Wilfred Baca and Orlando Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers will be Leroy Chavez, Santiago Camarena, Alex Gabaldon, and Franchesca Castillo Chavez.
