Felix Barela Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1945-2018 Felix Barela, age 73, a resident of Belen, NM, completed his earthly journey on November 29, 2018 and met our Heavenly Father. He was a spouse, father, and grandfather who served his country and our Lord, as a deacon in the Catholic Church for 25 years, serving both Belen and La Joya missions. Felix was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Thomasita Barela and siblings: Mateas Barela, Rosie Lucero, Carmen and Albino Barela. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Albinita Barela, his children; Carlotta (Fred) Duran, Theresa McGee, Patrick Barela, Lorenzo (Joyce) Barela, Helen Bonds, Monique (Richard) Navarrette, his 16 loving grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, beginning with a Public Viewing held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at 6:00 PM, a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM, a Final Viewing will be on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 9:00 AM and a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Montano, Chris Montano, Michael Barela, Thomas Barela, Fred Duran and Richard Navarrette. Honorary Pallbearers will be Heather Castillo, Chantel Stafford, Rebecca Barela, Miranda McGee, Andraya Castillo, Treyanna Brown, and Candice Navarrette.
