Donald B. Watson

October 8, 1933 - December 22, 2020

1933-2020 Donald B. Watson born to Orvale and Valda Watson on October 8, 1933 in Ralls, TX, and a resident of Peralta, New Mexico, joined our Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 22, 2020 after reaching the age of 87 years old. He passed peacefully in his home with his family by his side. Don was a very hard working man and entrepreneur who owned and operated his long-running construction company in Peralta, NM. He and his wife Nettie also owned the Baskin Robbins Ice Cream Shop in Los Lunas for many years. When he wasn’t working, he spent time volunteering in many roles in his community. He was a proud member of the Bosque Farms Rodeo Association, a volunteer firefighter in Peralta for over 30 years, and a member of the Valencia County Sheriff's Posse. Don enjoyed fishing, bowling, woodworking, attending the family reunions and spending time at his cabin in Pagosa Springs, CO. Even up until his last few years of life, he could be seen on his tractor farming the fields. Don was a strong, proud and good man. He is loved and will be missed by many! Don is preceded in death by his mother and father; three brothers, one sister; beloved wife of 52 years, Nettie Watson; and daughter, Donette Purinton. He is survived by two siblings; Galen Watson, and Betty Truelock, his two daughters, Diane and her husband, Louie Gurule of Peralta; Debby Parks of Albuquerque, and Niece, Elona and her husband, Tom Rocco of Roseville, CA; eleven grandchildren, Adrian Apodaca, Michael Apodaca, Clete Purinton (wife Ashleigh), Shawnee Legere (husband Scott), Corey and Cameron Parks, Tina Armijo, Louie Gurule (wife Tialisa) and David Gurule; Shayleen Lovins (husband John) and Ross Rocco (wife Corrine), and sixteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A special thanks to caregiver Dorothy Domingues. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, at Valley Church of Christ, beginning with a Visitation at 10:00 AM, a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM and Interment to follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Smith, Adrian Apodaca, Michael Apodaca, Clete Purinton, Corey Parks and Cameron Parks.
