1960 – 2022 Betty J. Wade, age 61, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, February 4, 2022. She was born in Albuquerque, NM. She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, daughter, and friend. Betty was a strong woman with a funny sense of humor. Her favorite cartoon was Betty Boop - it always made her smile. The youngest of six siblings, Betty was a little wild, a little loud, but always tried to laugh off the hard times. She would open her door to you if you needed a place to stay, share what she had and would help in any way she could. Betty’s laughter, love and kindness will be greatly missed! She is survived by her partner of 20 years, Mark Stultz; God parents, Eliseo and Connie (Roybal) Quintana; daughters, Diana (Wade) Canales (Cesar), and Amber (Madrid) Padilla (Louis); grandchildren, Bernadette Chavez (DeHaven Barnes), David and D'Vonne Brady-Wade (Marissa Cruz), Onyx Brady, Omar Canales, Ivan Canales (Emily Lopez-Zarate) Cruz Padilla, Nemesia (Padilla) Thornton (Germain), Carlos, Isaac, and Aracelli Padilla; great-granddaughters, Leilah, Ava and Leah Barnes, and Amber Thornton; great-grandson Enrique Canales; brothers and sisters, Kathy, Wes (Roz), Raymond (Marsha), and Kay Wade; sisters-in-law, Debbie (Riley) Wade; and many nieces nephews; uncles, aunts and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents; William O. and Mary N. (Roybal) Wade; brother William O. Jr.; and niece Melissa A. Wade-Raymond. A graveside service will take place on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
