1935– 2022 Adam B. Baca, age 86, a resident of Bosque Farms, NM, went to dance with our Angels in Heaven on March 21, 2022. He was surrounded by his loving children. Adam is preceded in death by his wife, Veronica G. Baca; daughter, Marlene Jeanette; granddaughter, Kierstin Marie Sanchez; parents, Orfelio P. and Selfa B. Baca; sister, Cora (Jim Boeck); sister-in-law, Lugarda “Gally” Baca; brothers, Elue, Levi (Alice), Jimmy (Joann), Abe (Nora), and Fermin (Lena); In-laws, Dennis C. and Maria A. Gabaldon; brothers-in-law, Abran, Joseph, Paul, Tony (Molly), Henry (Sarah), and Raymond (Frances) Gabaldon; sisters-in-law, Theresa Baca and Margaret (Ray Pyle). He is survived by his loving children, MaryAnn Rich (Stan), Marvin Jefferey (Joyce), Marilyn Joyce B. Wallace (Leslie N.), Marsha Janine Madden (Bradley J.), Michelle Janifer Gonzales (Paul M.), Marva Jean Aragon (Dean Vigil), Melanie Janelle Garcia (Fidel J.), Melissa Jolene “Missy” Sanchez (Hon. Judge James Lawrence Sanchez); 16 loving grandchildren, Jason Dale Miller (Victorie Klein), Kayla and Bryan Sauer, Colton Trae and Caitlyn Shaye Baca, Dakota Laramie and Cheyenne Brooke Wallace, Taylor and Anna Madden, Tiffani Nicole and Brittani Noelle Gonzales, Marlene Preslee and Casey Cash Aragon, Joshua Adam Garcia, Dr. Joseph Lawrence and Madison Veronica Sanchez; 6 loving great-grandchildren, Benjamin Adam Miller, Clara and Nicholas Selman, Preston and Peyton Sauer, Thomas Loucks; 1 loving great-great grandchild, Robert Loucks; brother-in-law, Dr. Matt Baca; sister-in-law, Ruth Gabaldon; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Adam was born in La Joya, NM. He started his career with the Santa Fe Railroad/BNSF at the tender age of 21. Adam was hired on as a Carman, promoted to a Switchman/Brakeman/Conductor, then to a Yardmaster, then an Assistant Train Master. His final promotion with the Railroad, Adam was honored to say “I was the first Hispanic Trainmaster.” He finally retired from the Railroad in 1998 after 42 years of service. Adam was proud to have his only son, Marvin, and Marvin’s only son, Colton, following his footsteps to work for the Santa Fe Railroad/BNSF. His loving wife of 57 years always enjoyed to match their clothing; we believe she was waiting for him with matching wings. Adam was looking forward to dancing once again with the love of his life, Veronica. A very special THANK YOU to caretakers Eunice, Grace, and Leslie. A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022 at San Clemente Catholic Church at 8:30 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 9:30 a.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at San Clemente Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his son-in-law Fidel, grandsons, Jason, Colton, Dakota, Cash, Joshua, Nicholas, and great grandson, Benjamin. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Caitlyn, Cheyenne, Tiffani, Brittani, Taylor, Preslee, Dr. Joseph, Madison, and Clara.
