Viki Irene Love

On September 4, 2010 Viki Irene Love realized her full potential, winning her fight against the struggles of this world. She was called home on leave to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to return with Him in Glory on that great day when all struggles will be ended and sin will be vanquished forever. Born January 29, 1951 to her parents Virginia and Clark Strickland, Viki was the second of their 5 children, her brothers are Gordon and his wife Nancy, Steve and his wife Vicki, Kris and his wife Debbie, and her youngest brother Joe with his wife Jana. Born into a house that openly talked to and served the Lord, Viki held fast to the faith that was passed down to her by her parents and grandparents, making that faith her own. As she had been taught she chose for herself a husband of equal faithfulness, John W. Love Jr. the son of Eleanor and John W. Love Sr. Together Viki and John raised a family of 5 children, 3 girls and 2 boys. James their oldest met the love of his life Deana Mercer and together they have 4 children Allen, Anna, Heather, Thomas.˜ John married Denise and they have 3 children Jaden their oldest and their twins Erik and Sarah. Jenifer is the oldest of their daughters, she married Lee and they have three children of their own Ancil, Dade, and Amber. Julia met and married Jereme with whom she had had 4 sons; Johnathan, Jesse, Jeremiah, and Joel. Joni is their youngest and is still in school but is growing into a fine young woman who is fulfilling the great expectations of her mother's heritage.Viki has gone to help prepare a place for husband John, 5 children, and 14 grand children. This does not include the countless other “children” that she has mothered to and others that she has ministered to in her life as an elementary teacher, church pianist, and homemaker.˜Whenever people met Viki and got to know her, they saw the face of love and knew the peace of God in her presence. Her love, patient, and compassion was comforting and contagious. Viki always tried to see people as they could be and not to see them as they were. She thought the best of others and was the consummate hostess, setting the room at ease with her presence and touch. Ask her grandkids and they would tell you that Gram's house was better than any place on earth. They have experienced a love there that went beyond all reason.Viki was the kind of person that made you feel better about yourself in a genuine way, you wanted to do your best when you were around her. Viki fought the good fight, she has finished the race, shekept the faith. She has the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, has given her , and will not only give to her, but to all those who have loved His appearing.If I speak the languages of men and of angels,but do not have love,I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.If I have the gift of prophecy,and understand all mysteriesand all knowledge,and if I have all faith,so that I can move mountains,but do not have love, I am nothing.And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor,and if I give my body to be burned,but do not have love, I gain nothing.Love is patient; love is kind.Love does not envy;is not boastful; is not conceited;does not act improperly; is not selfish;is not provoked; does not keep a recordof wrongs;finds no joy in unrighteousness, but rejoicesin the truth;bears all things, believes all things,hopes all things, endures all things.Love never ends.But as for prophecies, they will come to an end;as for languages, they will cease;as for knowledge, it will come to an end.For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.But when the perfect comes,the partial will come to an end.When I was a child, I spoke like a child,I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.When I became a man, I put aside childish things.For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror,but then face to face.Now I know in part, but then I will know fully,as I am fully known.Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love.But the greatest of these is love.Viki lived in the house that Love built. What we saw of her in all her greatness and love is but a mere shadow of who she is now in her presence of our glorified Lord. We know that this is not the end but a new beginning and that the sorrow we feel with this time spent apart as we await our calls is but a vapor in comparison to the eternity that we will share with her later.No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.˜ Viki has seen, heard, and experienced the great things that God has planned for us, She awaits her loved ones in comfort and glory, we pray that that wait is not long for our sake.Viki is a firm believer in missions, and as such the family has asked that donations be made to the Inlow Youth Camp where her and John met as teenagers.
