Scot Young

1973-2023 Scot Young, age 50, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, passed away on July 7, 2023. Services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel. Starting with a Visitation at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the Martinez Young residence. He is survived by his wife, Kris Martinez; sons, Nicodemus Young; Jacob Vinci; brothers, Don and Glenn Innis; in laws, Nat and Geraldine Martinez; brother in law, Gordon Martinez; uncles and aunts, Robert Lepage (Leona), Maurice Comtois (Beverly) and Kathleen Auld; cousins, Steven Young, Brian Young, Michael Young, William Auld, Richard Auld, Greg Comtois, Michael Comtois, Mathew Young, Susan Belanger, Cathleen Auld, and Neil Lepage. Scot is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Richard “Dicky” and Ellen Marie Comtois Young; uncle and aunt, William and Lucielle Young; brother in law, Joseph Martinez; and many dearly departed members of the Martinez family. He attended Keene State and transferred to the University of New Hampshire where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Scot was a passionate sports fan (especially of Boston professional sports team) and music aficionado with a love for live concerts. He served terms on Board of Directors for Breitenbush Hot Springs & Conference Center where he lived and worked as a member of the Co-Op and Community of Detroit, OR. Scot was an avid Fire Dancer, Burningman participant with Kokopelli, theme camps and Center camp Café at TTITD for many years, New Mexico Burner-Enchantment & Sun Burn, loved his Mardi Gras Krewe de ABQ, and volunteered together with his wife, Kris, at The Ritz Sauna and Showers and Flamingo Clan member for over 20 years at the Oregon County Fair. He was a loving, hardworking, brilliant, music loving, and steadfast husband and father, uncle, he was known for his great hugs, good foods and an ear always willing to listen. Scot was a devoted, patient and present father who ensured that his son, Nico, had plentiful opportunities to develop his profound musical gifts and talents. He was also extremely proud to see Nico graduate high school and get accepted to Eastern New Mexico University in Roswell, NM.
