Otoniel O."Tony" Jaramillo

1933-2020 Otoniel (Tony) O. Jaramillo, 93, a resident of Jarales, NM, was called home Thursday, January 23, 2020. He was born and spent his youth as a farmer in Jarales, before proudly serving in the Army during WWII. Tony married Anna Cordova Jaramillo in 1950. They had six children and spent 57 years happily together. He lived in Barstow, California, where he worked for the Marine Corps for 20 years before retiring to Jarales. Tony was a devoted Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Later in his life he enjoyed watching old western movies, spending time tending his garden, spoiling his chihuahuas, and cracking dad jokes. He spent his last years close to family, and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Florencio and Trenidad Olguin Jaramillo; wife, Anna Jaramillo; sons; Steve, Joe, Robert, and David; grandchildren, Mary Jane, Sandra, and Joseph; siblings, of which he was the last; Jose Luis, Maria, Biterbo, Alejandro, Adenago, Cliendes, Climaco, Jose Isaac, Lotario, Manuelita, Gillie, Alfredo, and Daisy. He is survived by his daughters, Annette Stovall (Bryson) and Bernice Serafin (Leslie); daughters-in-law; Myong, and Christine who brought care and comfort to Tony in the later parts of his journey; grandchildren,David (April), Brenda Schmidt (Eric), Matthew (Caroline), April Mirabal (Onecimo), Juan (Shirly), Jesus (Aimee), Ricardo, Lawrence, Jimmy, and Tony; Great-grandchildren, Destinie, Tony, Andrea, David Jr., Jacob, Josiah, Onecimo, Damien, Giovanni, Daisy, Matthew Jr., Noah, Jeremiah, Tyler, Ariana, Dominic, Abigail, Matthew, Joey, Mattison, Tyler, Alexxis, Jaymes, Cheyenne, Hailey, Ricky, Tony, Celina, Juan, Shane, Chase, Jessie and two loving great-great-granddaughters, Marie and Ellie who lit up the last years of his life; along with many other loved ones including nieces, nephews and friends. All services will take place on Friday, January 31, 2020, beginning with a public viewing and Celebration of Life at 8:30 AM at the Romero Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM and Funeral Mass at 10 AM will both be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens.
