Orlando V. Griego

Orlando V. Griego, age 76, a resident of Peralta, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 2.˜ He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta.˜ Orlando proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from and worked as an iron worker from .˜ He loved working in his yard, fishing and camping with his family.˜ Orlando also loved staying at the Manzano Park and driving around to visit some of his friends that lived in the area.˜ He would just sit and talk to them for hours.˜ Orlando loved going prospecting with Uncle Bob, but most of all, he enjoyed staying at his second home in T or C with his wife, Theresa.˜ He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Anita Griego; brothers, Salomon, Domis and Julian Griego; sisters, Rufina Sanchez, Criselda Mancha, Susie Griego, Eufelia Jaramillo and Tercila Sanchez.˜ Orlando is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Theresa Gallegos Griego;four sons, Lesmen Griego and wife, Belen, Randall Griego and wife, Trish, Orlando Griego, Jr. and wife, Rhonda and Delbert Griego and wife, Loretta; daughter, Shelly Olguin and husband, Keith; 15 grandchildren, Leslie, Leandra and Lesmen, Jr. Griego, Carlos and Claudia Griego, Dotty Whitley and husband, Dusty, Clarissa and Tasha Griego, Sabrina and husband, Ambresio Saavedra, Brianna and Jaida Griego, Macy Rae and Mandy Rae Olguin, Ricky Baros and wife, Renee and Victor Romero and wife, Lena; great-grandchildren, Gilbert, Larissa, Nicholas, Damian, Aiden, Damion, Donovan, Sativa, Alvaro, Janessa, Antonio, Zachary, Landon, Jaidan, Ricky Jr., Victoria, Andres, Lilah and Luis; sister, Elvina Torres and brother, Ramon Griego.˜ He is also survived by many loving, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.˜ The family would like to thank Sol Amor Hospice.˜ A special thank you to his caring nurses, Tammy, Carly and Jessica; Chaplan Steve; Romero Funeral Home; Father Hernandez and Deacon Eddie.˜ A viewing will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, with a rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m.˜ Interment will follow at Valencia Catholic Cemetery.˜ Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Carlos Griego and Lesmen Griego, Jr.; nephews, Max Jaramillo, Kenneth Griego, Michael Griego and Raymond Sanchez.˜ Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews, Robert Torres and Julian Garcia.Sign Orlando’s online register book at www.romerofuneralhomenm.com.
