Olympia Theresa Torres

1952-2016 Olympia Torres, age 63, a resident of Belen, NM. Passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016. Olympia was born to Patricio and Beratrice Baca on September 18, 1952. She married her soul mate Nolbert Torres on February 28, 1976 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church where she was still a member of. They started off their married life with an adventurous month long honeymoon with Nolbert flying them from Colorado to Utah, down the coast of California with their last stop being Mazatlan Mexico. Nolbert and Olympia created lasting memories through various trips which took them on dune buggies rides in Glimus, motorcycle rides across the state and trips to the lake. Olympias pride and joy were her children and their spouses and she lived for her grandchildren. She was the first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking and entertaining for family and friends. Olympia is well known for her famous chocolate chip cookies, pizza, and enchiladas. She was preceded in death by her loving mother, Beatrice Baca; brother, Raymond Baca; aunts and uncles from both the Salas and Baca family. Olympia is survived by her devoted husband, Nolbert Torres; children, Rachel and Chris Maestas of Jarales, their daughter Madison and other on the way in June; Nolbert and Lindsay Torres of Jarales, and their two sons, Ethan and Elijah, Valerie and Nick Gutierres of pueblitos, and their three daughters Alannis, Ayleigh, and Aleena. Olympia is also survived by her father, Patricio Baca; her Brothers, Patrick Baca and wife Angie, Michael Baca and wife Bernadette, and Joseph Baca. Along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-laws who loved her dearly. A public visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016. At Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A final visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m., with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. On Tuesday, May 10, 2016. At Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
