John S. Tafoya Sr.

1963-2015 John S. Tafoya Sr., age 51, a resident of Los Lunas, NM passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. He was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church. John was a well-loved person by many people. He had many hobbies that included window tinting, building mini churches, and playing the New Mexico lottery scratchers. His greatest time most of all was spending time with his three grandchildren whom he adored. John was very humorous and always knew how to make you smile. He was also a very good chef and loved to cook for his family. John was a great father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by many. “We love you dearly and may your soul rest in peace dad.” He was preceded in death by his mother, Margie Maez; sister, Dorothy Tafoya Dominguez; niece, Maggie Dominguez; and ex-wife, Sharon Martinez. John is survived by his father, Rey Tafoya; step-mother, Jo-Ann Tafoya; son, John Tafoya Jr.; grandchildren, Kianna, Adrian, and Leah Tafoya; sisters, Pamela Pagano, Joylene Tafoya, Robin Salais and boyfriend, Pete Buschman, and Candice Tafoya; step-brothers, Ronald Sanchez and Daniel Sanchez; nieces, Ricarda and husband, Chris Mendoza, Alicia Dominguez, Brandy Dominguez and boyfriend, Charles, Christine and husband, Joshua Favela, Rhiannon Montoya, Maranita Salais, and Marisa Garcia; nephews, Christopher Tafoya and girlfriend, Judy, Manuel Salais and girlfriend, Rose, Jeremy and wife, Jenine Vigil, and Joshua Andrade. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, beginning with a viewing on Thursday, June 4th at 6:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final viewing will be held on Friday, June 5th at 10:00 a.m. with at Communion Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Los Lentes Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dominic Mendoza, Manuel Salais, Jeremy Vigil, Christopher Tafoya, Magarito Dominguez, and Christopher Mendoza.
