Joe T. Garcia

1926-2015 Joe T. Garcia, age 89, a resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2015. He was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church where he served as an usher, sacristan, Eucharistic minister, and served the Eucharist to the home bound. He recently moved to Albuquerque, where he attended St. Joseph’s on the Rio Grande. Joe T. was born to Juan and Josefita Trujillo Garcia in Belen, NM. He proudly served in the United States Army during World War II. Joe T. worked for ATSF railroad for 45 years and retired in 1986. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Elks. Joe T. is preceded in death by his son, Raymond K. Garcia; wife, Erlinda Sanchez; and parents, Juan and Josefita Trujillo Garcia. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Dolores Sanchez Garcia; children, Diane Garcia from Arlington, VA, John and Joseph Garcia from Belen, NM, Lynn Baca from Albuquerque, James Maes and wife, Corrine from Albuquerque, NM, and Anthony Maes and wife, Traci from Cortez, CO; daughter in-law, Alice Garcia from Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren, Ruperto Baca, Jamie Bullock, Gerri Lynn Baca, Crystal, Santiago, Deserie, Pheobe, and Johnny Ray Maes, Caleb, Joshua, and Elizabeth Maes, Amy and husband, Daniel Hardin, and Eric Garcia; great-grand daughter, Ava Denise Hardin; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Josie Smith, Dorella Skreemeta, Margaret C. Trujillo (Herman), Lillian Garcia, Lorena Montano (Celso), Juan Garcia (Dorothy), Ramond Garcia, Leonard Garcia (Lorraine); and brother in-law, Richard Chavez. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 beginning with a public viewing at 10:30a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 11:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. by Father David Gallegos OSM. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Amy Hardin, Eric Garcia, James Maes, Anthony Maes, Jamie Bullock, and Richard Molina.
