OBITUARY for Ida Martinez Ida Noyola Vallejos Martinez, 82 was born on September 21, 1933 in Quemado, New Mexico. She is a longtime resident of Los Chavez. She went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday March 9, 2016. Her parents Juan and Selsa Vallejos, preceded her in death. Ida was also preceded in death by her husband Ralph M. Martinez of 54 years. She was also preceded in death by her sister Rosie (Gigi) Marie Vallejos and her brother Jose Francisco ‘Frank’ Vallejos. Ida was one of the last surviving Charter Member of the First Baptist Church of Los Chavez where she continued to be a member until her death. She was retired from the State of New Mexico and the Los Lunas Hospital and Training School where she worked in the education department. Clearly, her passion was simple: She loved the Lord, her church and her family. It is difficult to remember at least one little league game, band concert, Special Olympics meet or event that she was not in attendance to support her children and grandchildren. Over the past couple of years which were defined by her failing health and being in and out of hospitals and assisted living facilities, the comments of the staff were always the same: “…Ida must be so loved, she gets more visitors than anyone else…” She is survived by her children – her sons John Martinez (Shari) of Twin Falls, Idaho, her Son Chris Martinez (Veronica) of Los Lunas, New Mexico, and her daughter Cynthia Martinez of Belen, New Mexico. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew Vallejos, Jessica Martinez, Julia Martinez, Joshua Martinez, Andrew Martinez, Brittany Martinez and Derek Castillo. Her great grandchildren Analiyah and Arhianna, as well as many nieces and nephews throughout New Mexico, Arizona and California. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Center of Ageless Living in Los Lunas where she resided for over a year, the staff Casa de Rosa in Albuquerque, and the loving care she received from the staff of Legacy Hospice. All services will be held at First Baptist Church of Los Chavez , NM. A Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m. with a Celebration of life to begin at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery
