Frances C. Gabaldon

1925-2017 Frances C. Gabaldon, age 92, loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt and Friend was sent to our Lord in Heaven on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Los Lunas and a resident of Belen, Pancha, as she was fondly called, was a devout Catholic with the love of Our Lady of Guadalupe in her heart. She was loved by all, small in stature but with an enormous heart. Frances enjoyed traveling to Texas to spend time with Dominic, going out to the casino and eating with family and friends. She worked at the Belen Senior Center for thirty plus years before retiring at the age of 88. Her tiny office was full of people coming to see her; she always had candy for all. Frances loved her sons’ cats, Vigo, Leon, and Chivita, who she named; dogs, Chico, Toby and Cisco. She loved to cook for her family even as she got older, she always had food to offer. Frances had an impressive memory, remembering miniscule details about everyone. Christmas time was extra special, gathering at her home for tamales, carne adovada, her home made biscochitos, chile rellenos and empanaditas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond A. Gabaldon; son, Leonard; great grandson, Justin William; parents; three sisters and four brothers. Frances is survived by her daughter, Marie and husband, James; three sons, Dennis and wife, Stanni; Dominic; Raymond and wife, Rosemary; four grandchildren, Jeremy and wife, Meghan, Dene, Jenna and Brandon. A Viewing will be held at 5:00 p.m., on Monday, September 4, 2017, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. A Final Viewing will be held at 9:00 a.m., on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, with a Funeral mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Santa Fe National Cemetery where she will be interred next to her husband. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Sanchez, Meghan Sanchez, Jenna Gabaldon, Juliette Castillo, Marie Stella Sedillo and Arleen Sanchez.
