Florencia B. Perea

˜ Florencia B. Perea, age 92, a resident of Valencia, NM, passed away at her home on Monday, May 17, 2010.˜ Until her final breath, Florencia was in the loving care of her family.˜ She was born in Montoya, NM, on September 12, 19l7. She was a devoted wife and mother.˜ Florencia was a wonderful homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family and took great pride in the achievements of her grandchildren.˜ Her commitment to the Catholic faith served as an example for her family and friends.˜ ˜She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, Herman Perea; her parents, Ferminia and Florencio Benavidez; her sisters, Amelia Perea and Lupe Benavidez; her brother, Frank Benavidez and her grandson, Richard Perea Jr. Florencia is survived by her sisters, Aurora Rivera, Agneda August and Mary Olguin; her children, Richard Perea and wife, Rosa, Betty Castillo and husband, Nick, Gene Perea and wife, Irene, Robert Perea and wife, Enedina, Virginia Chavez and Tody Perea and wife, Gloria; her grandchildren, Michael, Vicki, Valerie, Greg, Linda, Phyllis, Sandra, Eddie, Cheryl, Kenny, Tony, Sally, Aaron, Robert Jr., Carol, Ruben Jr., Ruby, Julie, Todd, Carlos and Frank; 43 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.˜ The family would like to give a special thank you to Elsa Ramirez, Linda Otero, Carmen Perea, and Margarita Contreras for assisting the family over the last several years to care for their mother in her home.˜ Additionally, the family would like to thank the staff of Ambercare Home Health for the thoughtful and compassionate care given to their mother over the last few months.˜ A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, May 19, at 5:30 p.m. with the rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m.˜ A final visitation will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, NM, on Thursday, May 20, at 8:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.˜ Interment will follow at the 7th Day Adventist Cemetery.˜ The Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Carol Sanchez, Sandra Majalca, Linda Silva, Robert Perea Jr., Carlos Perea and Kenny Perea.˜ Sign Florencia’s˜˜˜˜˜ online register book at www.romerofuneralhomenm.com.
