Flora Carabajal

1933-2015 Flora Carabajal, age 82, a resident of Peralta, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015, after a short illness. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Flora was born in Tome, New Mexico, in 1933. In November of 1953, she married the love of her life, Frank Carabajal. Flora was employed as the head cook in the cafeteria at Peralta Elementary School for twenty-one years where she was known to always add that special touch and flavor to the delicious food that she so lovingly prepared for the children of the school. Flora was the embodiment of love for God and her family, of whom she loved unconditionally. She demonstrated this love throughout her life by her genuine caring, nurturing spirit, warm hugs, kind words, generous prayers, and the delicious food she made of which many wonderful memories were created. Flora was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Frances Aragon; sister, Nila Chavez; brother, Ralph Aragon; and her in-laws, Elfego and Louisa O. Carabajal. Flora is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Frank Carabajal; her four sons, Frankie, Jr., Floyd and his wife, Cindy, Fred and his wife, Margaret, and Fabian Carabajal; four sisters, Betty Romero, Prescilla Baca, Annie Sanchez, and Bernadette Aragon-Nelson; and two brothers, Joe and Isaac Leroy Aragon. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who she loved with all her heart. Flora leaves behind many wonderful sisters- and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends, all of whom she cherished greatly. All services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, New Mexico, on Saturday, November 14, 2015. A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m., and a funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Peralta/Valencia cemetery. Pallbearers are Floyd and Jonathon Carabajal, Fred and Stephen Carabajal, and Fabian, Anthony, and Jacob Carabajal.
