Ernestina "Tina" Gonzales Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1931-2020 Ernestina “Tina” Gonzales, age 89, born on April 7, 1931, passed away on December 9, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her children, Lorenzo (Cleo) Gonzales, Theresa Gonzales, Jason (Gloria) Gonzales and Yvonne (Ruben) Gonzales Moya; ten grandchildren, Tino (Mirabel) Marquez, Marcus Montano, Simon Montano, Anthony (T.J.) Romero, Ruben V. Moya, Jazmine (Dominic) Sosa, Vanessa Gonzales, Lorenzo Gonzales, Jr., Jason Gonzales, Jr., (Crystal) and Samuel Moya; plus 20 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren, one sister, Mary Silva and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Ernestina is preceded in death by her husband, Simon “Sam” Gonzales with whom she started S&J Service Station back in 1963, later adding a car wash and other businesses of an archery shop and auto shop. She loved gambling at all the local casinos and Vegas, shopping for clothes, jewelry, purses and traveling to different places where they had gambling. She accumulated many dolls and other knickknacks over the years, which she proudly displayed. Ernestina helped raise all her grandchildren in one way or another. Her favorite color was purple. She did like to be spoiled by her family and had a special bond with her great-grandson, Micah. Ernestina was also preceded in death by her sisters, Carol Gonzales and Leandra Acevez and brother, Raymond Casais and grandson, Ray Garcia, Jr. Services will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020, beginning with a viewing at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, followed by a Rosary and Mass at 10:00 AM at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas. Interment will follow immediately at San Clemente Catholic Cemetery. Covid restrictions will be in place. Facebook Live will be available through Jason Jay Gonzales’s Facebook account.
