Emilio Torres

1928-2016 Emilio Torres, age 88, born April 29, 1928, in Lucy, NM, a resident of Belen, NM, went with our Lord surrounded by his family on Monday, December 5, 2016, after a long bout with dementia and other illnesses. Emilio resided at Senior Living Systems Assistant Living Facility in Tomé where he was dearly loved by the staff and other residents there. He was a proud member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church and La Gran Pastorela for many years. Emilio served his country while in the Army during World War II stationed in France where he met and married the love of his life Odette. Emilio was a kind, gentle and respectful man who loved his family very much. He will be dearly missed by all. Emilio is preceded in death by his loving wife, Odette; sons, Pete and Hubert Torres; parents, Nestor and Noberta Torrez; brothers, Pete and Demecio and wife, Lola, Larry and wife, Beatrice; sister, Senaida Montoya and husband, Eloy; nephew, Richard Montoya. He is also preceded in death by Odette’s family from France. He is survived by his brothers, Alex and wife, Bennie, Alcario and wife, Mary from Colorado; sister, Mary and husband, Alfonso form Belen; brother-in-law, Hubert Hermann and wife, Marie from Algrange, France as well as several nephews and nieces here and in France. Emilio never had grandkids but he treated all his nephews and nieces as his grandkids. All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, on Friday, December 9, 2016. A Public Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 a.m., and a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be all his nephews, Chris and Edwin Montoya, Jerry, Anthony, Alcario Jr, Paul, Joseph Torrez, Conrad and Michael Guajardo.
