Elizabeth Jean Holmes

1934- 2026 Elizabeth "Jean" (Sauser) Holmes, age 92, a resident of Bosque Farms, daughter of Henry and Odelia Sauser, was born July 16, 1934. Jean passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Woodmark Assisted Living Facility, in Albuquerque, NM. Services will take place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church on Thursday, August 20, 2026. Beginning with a Visitation at 9:30 a.m., a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. and Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Roger and Leasa; grandson, Cody and his wife Bethany; sister, Helen Ann; brother, Jerry and his wife Nancy, and brother Roy. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother and sister. Jean was raised in Randolph Nebraska and graduated from Randolph High School. After graduating she worked at a local Physicians office. After meeting the love of her life, Jed, they married on June 16, 1955, and started as an Air Force couple traveling the world. Jean and Jed had two children Roger and Leasa and welcomed their grandson Cody after retiring in New Mexico. Jean's greatest joy was being at home raising her children. She enjoyed gardening, working with horses, and sewing. Leasa remembers her mom as a wonderful cook and exceptional seamstress. Her mom would always cook homemade meals and have a pie in the refrigerator. After Cody was born, Jean would sew him Halloween costumes. Leasa tells a story of a Batman costume made for Cody that he wore well after the holiday, pretending he was a superhero. Jean loved to play Donkey Kong with Cody, she made them a special bean bag chair they would sit in to play for hours, enjoying each other's company. Roger remembers his mom as making his horse showing suits and always having a smile for people who were entering their horses into show classes. Roger said even to this day he still has some of the shirts she made him. He also remembers her making the "best" chocolate pie.
