Elizabeth Brooks Hawkes Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1961-2020 Elizabeth Brooks Hawkes, age 59, a life-long resident of Belen, NM, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2020. She was a member of Christian Faith Chapel in Belen. Elizabeth was a 1979 graduate of Belen High School. She was an outstanding athlete, excelling in basketball and track. She attended West Texas State in Amarillo, TX, where she earned her Nursing Degree. Upon graduation, Elizabeth went to work for Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. She then used her nursing degree to work in hospitals in Albuquerque and Belen. Elizabeth loved camping and going on vacation with her 2 sons, Marcus and Zachariah. She loved arts and crafts and always had many projects she was working on. Elizabeth is preceded in death by her father, James Hawkes; 3 brothers, Jimmy, Dykes and Dallas Hawkes; 2 sisters, Clara Hawkes and Marline Chavez Hawkes. She is survived by her 2 loving sons, Marcus and his wife Ashley of El Paso, TX and Zachariah of Los Lunas; her 2 loving brothers, Danny (Mary Alice) and Mike (Audrey); and many loving nieces and nephews. Services will take place on Monday, July 13, 2020, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, beginning with a Visitation from 10:00 -11:00 AM and a Service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Rudy Espinosa officiating.
