Douglas Toca III

1987-2015 Douglas Toca III, age 28, a resident of Belen, was taken into the loving arms of our Lord on Tuesday, July 21, 2015. He was a member of the Manzano Branch, and the Belen Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Doug was a 2006 graduate of Belen High School and was a member of the Eagle’s football and wrestling teams. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America Troop 105, and assisted several younger scouts in attaining their Eagle awards. He worked with challenged youth for several state and county agencies. Doug became a dedicated body builder and maintained an interest in technology and video gaming. He was a life-long Denver Bronco’s fan and will be remembered as an accepting and understanding friend. He possessed an easy smile and was filled with an infectious vitality and enthusiasm for life. He is preceded in death by his grandfather’s, Douglas Toca Sr., Ray Mathias, and Rodolfo P. Rivera. Doug is survived by his loving parents, Douglas and Elvira Toca; sisters, Ashley and husband Kevin Cheng, Nicole and husband Christian Ayub, and Alyssa Toca; brother, Gavin Toca; Grandmothers, Yolanda M. Toca and Elvira Mathias; uncles and aunts, Rudolfo, Luis and wife Karen, Jesse, and Erica Rivera, Kent J. and wife Belkis Toca, Jacqueline and husband Ruben Maestros, and Maritza and Alain Toca. Cousins, Melissa, Stephanie, and Kassandra Rivera, Cassandra and husband Noah Kenworthy, Roberto, Samantha, Elizabeth, and Oscar Rivera, Natacha and Kent A. Toca, Madeline Maestros, Rodney Sims III, and several second cousins; nephews, Jaden Garvin and Kai Cheng, and many more extended family members. He is also survived by many special friends who became family through his life’s journey. All services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2015. With a public viewing to begin at 8:30 a.m. and a funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at the Belen Ward Building of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 2199 Highway 304, Rio Communities. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery in Belen, New Mexico. Pallbearers are Gavin Toca, Jesse Rivera, Kent Toca, Alian Toca, Kevin Cheng, Kent Toca Jr., Christian Ayub, and Steven Sanchez.
