Dorothy M. Chavez Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1932-2021 With a heavy heart, we announce the passing of Dorothy M., Chavez, at the age of 89, unbeknownst to her because she always said she was 39. Dorothy went to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, February 18, 2021. She was a devout Catholic and member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Chavez; daughter, Cathy Chavez-Buero, and grandson Miguel Chavez. Dorothy is survived by her children, Donna and Donald Goldkuhl; Ronald and Teresa Chavez; Gene and Dolores Chavez; Dean and Teri Chavez; Peter Chavez, Hope Chavez and partner, James Baca; Faith Chavez and partner, Derek Logan; son-in-law Kenny Buero; brother, Max Aragon; sisters-in-law, Corrine Apodaca and Celina Chavez, 22 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren, with 2 more great-great grandchildren on the way and several other relatives whom she loved dearly. Dorothy loved sweets so much she faithfully gave them up for Lent; however, we're not saying she didn't cheat. She also enjoyed watching Lifetime movies, but most of all she loved her family and was the matriarch we will all miss dearly. Pallbearers will be her sons, Ronnie, Gene, Dean and Peter. A public viewing will take place at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 10:30 am, a rosary to be recited at 11:30 am; with a funeral mass at 12:00 pm.
