Claudio Moya Sr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1935-2020 Claudio Moya, Sr., age 85, a resident of Peralta, NM, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta. Claudio is preceded in death by his youngest son, Danny, and parents, Eliseo and Carolina Lucero Moya. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 67 years, Nora Vialpando Moya; his 2 children, Claudio Moya, Jr. and wife, Judith; Lupita Moya and husband, Gary Zedalis; 7 grandchildren, Margo Jiron (Mike), Andres Barros, Lucas Barros (Jeanette), Patrick Zedalis, Joseph Moya (Patty), Danielle Armijo (Mike) and Mario Sanchez; several great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Claudio retired from Los Lunas Schools as a mechanic and prior to that ran his own business at Peralta Shamrock. He also was a life-long farmer and loved working on his tractor. Claudio loved playing his guitar and singing mariachi music. He loved to travel and was very social, had many friends, loved having “Matanzas” and when he traveled, he never met a stranger. Claudio will be missed by everyone who knew him and has left a rich legacy for his family. Services will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2020, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Peralta, beginning with a Public Viewing at 10:00 AM, a Rosary to be recited at 10:30 AM, a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM and Interment to follow at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lucas Barros, Patrick Zedalis, Daniel Jiron, Joseph Moya, Brian Sanchez, and Lucas Orozco-Barros. Honorary Pallbearers are Andres Barros, Tatianna Jiron and Dominique Jiron.
