Cecilia Brieden Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1940-2021 Cecilia (Chila) Brieden, 81, passed away on June 4, 2021, in her home in Los Lunas, New Mexico. She was born March 22, 1940 in Aguascalientes, Mexico to Marina and Leandro Munoz. Chila was one of seven siblings and was an identical twin. She was raised in El Paso, TX, and graduated from El Paso Technical High School. Chila worked as a Medical Supply Purchasing Manager for William Beaumont Army Medical Hospital. After 36 years of dedicated service, she retired in 2002, eventually moving to Los Lunas, NM to spend more time with her son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. Chila was hard-working, honest, and practical. She enjoyed yard work, needle point, telling stories of her childhood, and was affectionately referred to as the “white tornado” for her endless energy for projects and maintaining a clean home. Chila was a devout catholic who volunteered at her church, taught catechism, and was a member of the Alter Society at Our Lady of the Valley, in El Paso, TX. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and aunt. Chila will be deeply missed by her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marina Ortega Munoz, father, Leandro Munoz, Sr., and siblings, Josefina Sedeño, Leandro Muñoz, Luis Muñoz, and Refugio Jose Muñoz. Cecilia is survived by her husband of 46 years, Raymond R. Brieden and her son Albert Brieden and wife Anna of Los Lunas, NM; grandchildren Olivia and Adan, and sister Soledad M. Walaski and husband William J. Walaski of Rockwall, TX. Services will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021, at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas, NM. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 AM, with a Funeral Mass immediately following.
