Carisa "Risa" Yozelle Luna Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1971-2020 Carisa “Risa” Yozelle Luna, age 49, has left to be with the Angels that taught her to be the gregarious and loving person she was on September 28, 2020. She left a wonderful footprint in the city that she loved, Belen. Risa left a palm print on the hearts of the many people she knew. She left much too soon and much too young and took with her the love and compassion that she spread amongst many. Risa will be greatly missed by the many that she adored. She was a victim of a serious car accident in 2006 and we came close to losing her, but the good Lord saw fit to keep her around for a little while longer to give her time to help others that were in need. Her nickname “Risa” means laughter in Spanish and everyone she loved and knew will always remember her for her special, one-of-a-kind, sound of laughter. The good Lord had a plan for Risa. He allowed her to spend the last 3 weeks of her life with her mother and father on an extended trip to Phoenix, Puerto Penasco, Mexico and El Paso, which was described by her parents as the most wonderful time that they had spent with her in a very long time. Also, her daughter, Kasi and her 5 grandchildren from Louisiana, were here in Belen to attend Kasi’s other grandfather’s funeral. This allowed her to see her loving daughter and beautiful grandchildren that she was so anxious to see. Her beloved dog, Umpah, was her sidekick and she called her, her baby. Risa will be happy that one of her favorite Aunts, Reyna Luna, is providing Umpah a wonderful home. Risa graduated from Menaul School in Albuquerque, was a cheerleader, and went on to be an active participant in the day-to-day operation of her parent’s business, Casey Luna Ford-Mercury. Like many young people, she liked fast cars, the outdoors, swimming and especially her friends. She had the biggest heart and would do anything for anybody. Risa is survived by her daughter, Kasi Lara Luna (fiancée, Kee-Anthony) and grandchildren, Kaia, Solomon, Zaia, Legend and Keyzius; parents, Casey and Beverly Luna; sisters and brothers-in-law, Debbie (Rod) Luna-Johnson, Shalamaree “Sha” (Richard) Luna-Hicks, Marion Brem (Tim Fitzmorris) in Texas; brothers and sister-in-law, Steve (Robbie) Wright, Mike Luna, in Texas and too numerous nieces and nephews to mention. Services will be private for family only. The family wishes to thank you for the respect and understanding during these troubled times for all.
