Archie William Baker Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

1925-2021 Archie William Baker, age 96, went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 27, 2021. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend whose pride and joy was his family and he cherished the time he spent with them. Archie enjoyed fishing, hunting, working on his garden and playing poker with his friends. He joined the Army and proudly served in World War II. Archie worked as a mineral miner in Kansas before moving to New Mexico, where he retired as a mechanic. He is reunited with his wife, Orpha June Baker; sons, William “Billy” Baker; and Johnny Baker; parents, Bruce and Lea Baker; two sisters and five brothers. Archie’s spirit is carried on by his sons, Galen (Hai) Baker of Belen, Gary (Lucy) Baker of Belen, Tony (Joyce) Baker of Rio Rancho, Ronnie (Sheri) Baker of Jarales; daughter-in-law, Vicky Johnson Baker of Los Lunas; 20 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family, too numerous to list, but not forgotten. Services will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, beginning with a Public Viewing at 10:00 AM with a Graveside Service immediately following at 10:30 AM at Terrace Grove Cemetery. A reception will follow. Pallbearers are his grandkids, Kay, Bobby, Karen, Billy, Brian and Amanda. The family would like to thank everyone for their generosity, prayers, food and attendance.
