Annie L. Carrillo

1937-2020 Annie L. Carrillo age 83, a lifelong resident of Belen, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 26, 2020. She was born on March 16, 1937. Annie was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. As a devoted Catholic and person of faith, the Lord gave her strength to overcome life's many trials and tribulations. Because the light shined so brightly in her life, she was one of those rare and special people who brought friendship, joy, and laughter into other people's lives. During her life, she loved deeply and was in-turn loved. She will be truly missed. Annie was the loving wife of Pat E. Carrillo. Together they had five sons Lorenzo, Anthony, Moises, Philip, and Norman. Annie’s boys were the love of her life. She was often heard sharing with family and friends, “Those are my boys”. Her boys loved their mother. Annie loved experiencing mid-life with her partner of 20 years, Jose (Sonny) Gurule, camping, fishing, riding 4-wheelers, motorcycles, and especially traveling. Together, they explored every corner of the state. She loved music and dancing. Annie canoed in New Hampshire and parasailed at Elephant Butte Lake without knowing how to swim. She worked and retired from the Belen School District as a cook at Jaramillo Elementary, where she enjoyed some of her closest friendships. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Manuelita Sanchez; mother and father-in-law, Antonio and Lutgarda Carrillo: husband Patricio (Pat) E. Carrillo, and loving son Phillip J. Carrillo. Brothers: Amado Sanchez and Gilbert Sanchez. Sisters: Mary Sanchez, Eloisa Sanchez, and Lourdes Baca. Annie is survived by her sons and their wives: Lorenzo (Barbara), Anthony (Martha), Moises (Denise) Judith Carrillo, and Norman (Heidi) Carrillo. Annie leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers include; Patrick Carrillo, Joseph Carrillo, Krystle Jojola, Jenessa Carrillo, Kevin Carrillo, Stephen Carrillo, Ashlee Carrillo, Benny Chavira. Honorary pallbearers include Annie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. All services will be held on Jan. 5, 2020, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church.
