Andrew Berish

1942-2015 Andrew Thomas Berish, age 73, a resident of Los Chavez, NM passed away on Monday, August 3, 2015. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he was a very active, honorable priesthood holder, and served in many positions. Andrew and his wife Connie served in the Albuquerque, New Mexico Temple for seven years. They also served two local service missions for church. Andrew retired from the United States Air Force August 1, 1981 as Senior Master Sergeant, and made Los Lunas his home. While in the Air Force, he serviced airplanes such as B-52 Bombers and served in Vietnam, though he never had to use his gun. Three years after his wife Betty passed, Andrew met Connie at church, where they were then married on March 30, 1985. They celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2015. Andrew worked as part of the Albuquerque Facilities Management Group for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints until retiring in March 2008. He loved repairing cars even if nothing was obviously wrong. Andrew always checked them thoroughly because you just never know. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Olsen Berish; son Phillip Andrew; father Andrew Anthony Berish; sister Delores Sandrey. Andrew is survived by his mother Susan Fecek Berish; sisters, Mary (Carl) Paroda, Susan (Skip) Black; his loving wife of 30 years Concepcion De La Cruz Berish; children, Thomas (Traci), Sharon (Ben), Victoria, Diana Sanchez, Stephen; grandchildren Aaron Trujillo, Braiden Berish, Alyssa Trujillo, Carter Berish, Jacob Sanchez-Bess; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. All services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 2199 Highway 304, Rio Communities, on Saturday, August 8th Beginning with a viewing at 9:00 a.m. and a Funeral Service to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. with President Jerry L. Cark and Bishop Logan C. King officiating. Interment will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tom Berish, Stephen Berish, Ben Anderson, Aaron Trujillo, Braiden Berish, Alyssa Trujillo, Carter Berish and Lloyd Haslett. Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Rivera, Logan King, Steven Merrill, Stephen Boliver, Jacob Sanchez-Bess and Clint Haslett.
