Mark Peña

1968-2021 Mark Peña, age 53, a resident of Los Lunas, NM, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021. He was a catholic and was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tomé. Mark was born in Belen, NM, on May 30, 1968, to Carlos and Mabel Peña. Mark was a very talented person, great at whatever he put his mind to, he enjoyed oil painting of wildlife and nature landscapes, and working on vehicles. His passion was the great outdoors - hunting, fishing and camping in New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. Mark loved his daughters, mother, family and friends, was a joker and had an infectious laugh that could be heard from afar. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Mark graduated from Belen High School in 1986. He worked for 30 years and he held several positions in his career as Plastics Processor, Injection Molding Technician, Molding Department Coordinator, and Independent Contractor and Consultant, for various companies and corps; Poly-Flow Engineering, K-Tech Corp., Cooper Vision Ocular Sciences, Sud-Chemie Performance Packaging, Avonite, Clariant, and Keeters. Mark currently worked at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens Cemetery, as a groundskeeper, which he felt very rewarding. He is preceded in death by his father, Carlos Peña; brother, Johnny Michael Peña; nephew, Johnny Michael Peña Jr.; best friend and brother-in-law, Mark Baca. Mark is survived by his loving daughters, Rachelle Peña and Rhyannon Peña; mother of his children, Eugenia Peña; loveing mother, Mabel C. Peña; sisters, Gloria Peña-Chavez and husband Thomas; Mona Peña, JoAnn Chavez, and June Peña-DeLoia; brother, Carlos Peña Jr. (Edwina); partner, Therese Guerrero; nephews, Matthew Cordova, Russell Chavez, Carlos Peña III, Christian Chavez, and Angelo Chavez; nieces, Johnna Peña, Monique Perea, Raquel Chavez, Alexa Chavez, Brianna DeLoia, Gianna DeLoia, and Desiree Romero; four loving aunties, cousin, Edward Chavez; whom he considered a brother, and many other cousins and friends.
