Adelaida "Ida" Baca-Bernales Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Adelaida “Ida” Baca-Bernales, 92 entered the gates of heaven on February 15, 2021, surrounded by her amazing family. Ida was born Adelaida Baca to Hermenes Baca and Frances Jaramillo, at their Family Ranch (Jaramillo Ranch) in Magdalena, NM. She was the oldest of 5 children. Ida married Marcelo Bernales and they eventually relocated to Niland and Oceanside, California, where they raised their family of 10. Ida loved walking the beaches, Spanish Music, dancing, laughing, loved her New Mexico chile/food, her Margaret’s cooking and hearing the word of God; every chance she had she returned too New Mexico to be with her extended family and as the saying goes, “You can take the girl from New Mexico, but you can’t take New Mexico out of the girl.” Ida is preceded in death by her parent’s; the father of her children Marcelo “Mike” Bernales; her son, Junior “Mac” Bernales; grandchildren, Danny Pagdilao, David Bernales, Chantel Bernales; brothers, Antonio “Tony” Baca, Manuel “Nelo” Baca; son-In-law, Florence “Flor” Pagdilao; sisters-in-law, Josephine “Fefa” Baca and Dolores “Lola” Tafoya. She is survived by her children, Dorothy Pagdilao, Rudy Bernales, Frances (Chuck) Mentzer, Rosemary (Benny) Mata, John Bernales, Irene (Johnny) Sarenana, Tony (Rosa) Bernales, Christina (Harold) Groff, and Lisa (Mike) Viveros; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; her sister Mary (Arnold) Franco of Albuquerque, NM; and Brother Herman Jr. (Miquela) Baca of Los Lunas, NM.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
