Dicky and Suzanne Romero have continued to keep the Romero
tradition strong. Both Dicky and Suzanne are the current owners of Romero Funeral Home.
Suzanne holds an intern license in arranging/directing, while Dicky holds intern licenses
in both arranging/directing and embalming.
Rosalinda “Rosa” A. Martinez Funeral Service Practitioner
Rosalinda “Rosa” A. Martinez is
proud to be the Funeral Service Practitioner (FSP) for Romero Funeral Home. She was born in Bosque, NM
and is the daughter of Martin & Karen Martinez. Rosa graduated Belen High School in 2002 and Mesa
Community College in Mesa Arizona in 2007 with a degree in Mortuary Science.
“My dream was to work for Romero Funeral Home. Being employed by a long-time
family owned funeral home gives me the opportunity to learn from people that have passed their experience
from generation to generation. I find this to be extremely valuable in serving the families in and around
Valencia County and to be able to give them the care that they have come to expect from Romero Funeral
Home since 1936”.
Samuel C. Moya Funeral Service Intern
Samuel C. Moya is a life-long resident of Belen, NM. He is the son of Genaro &
Sandra Moya. Samuel started working at Romero Funeral Home in 2004 when he was a sophomore in high school. He
is a graduate of Belen High School, class of 2006. After graduation he joined the Naval Reserves and attended
boot camp and Corps School in Great Lakes, IL. When he returned to his home town in January 2007, once again
he joined the Romero Family business. He holds his intern license in Preparation and Embalming and in
Arranging and Directing. Samuel has a natural knack for understanding a family’s need at a most difficult
time. “I feel proud that when a family entrusts their loved one to us, that I will be there for them”.
Debbie Mason Office Manager / Funeral Service Intern
Our office manager, Debbie Mason, not only
manages administration, but is also one of Romero Funeral Home's interns, holding her intern license in
arranging/directing. She also holds her insurance license to provide pre-need insurance through Funeral
Directors Life Insurance Company.
Mae Gotchy Head Administrative Assistant
Mae Martinez, Gotchy a native of Cimarron, NM, was born to the late George Martinez, SR. and Josephine Martinez.
She and her husband, Dave formerly of Kearns, UT, moved to Belen in 1987 and to Rio Communities in 2000. They
both like to travel in their fifth wheel, fishing, camping and hunting. Mae and Dave have been members of
the Fraternal Order of Moose Lodge since 1991 and are currently active members of La Merced Family Fraternity
Moose Lodge in Rio Communities.
Stephanie Montoya Administrative Assistant
When Stephanie went job searching she had no idea that she would end up working in a funeral home. She said
“the pressure of constant deadlines and the pressure of being accurate in all aspects of my job make the
day go by fast. All the people I work with her at Romero’s are really nice and make it a lot of fun to
come to work everyday”. Stephanie is one of the youngest in our staff, and has proven to be a key member
of our team. Stephanie was born and raised in Los Lunas, NM. She is the Daughter of Morris Montoya and
Michelle Gonzales. Stephanie loves spending time with her Fiancé Joey and her two beautiful daughters Alexys &
Hailey. They enjoy boating and camping.
Tylene Dye Craver Plant Manager
Tylene Dye Craver a graduate of Socorro High School in El Paso TX has lived in Valencia County for the past
30 years. As a caregiver for so many years to her grandmother, Virginia Quillin, who passed away in 2008,
she learned to put others needs before her own. Cousin to owner Dicky Romero, she feels the importance of
family. “I just love my job as Plant Manager. Keeping the cars, building and parking lot pristine for
our families is just as important as any other job associated with caring for our families. Tylene is in
training as one of our First Call Personnel and has applied to the state to begin her internship as an
Embalmer. We are very happy to have family as a part of our team and Tylene is proving to be a great asset to us.
