Aurora “Dora” Navarro

1920-2012

Aurora “Dora” Navarro, age 91, a resident of Belen, NM passed away on Wednesday, January 18. She was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church, Moose Lodge 2550, and the Rio Communities Senior Center where she loved to visit with friends, dance, and play bingo. Dora had a colorful personality and was very active and had many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carolina and Higinio Mirabal; and loving husband of 65 years, Eloy Navarro, Sr. Dora is survived by her son, Eloy Navaro, Jr. and wife and her beloved daughter, Sandra Aragon and her husband, John; sister Ida Tanksley, Mary Matthews, Gloria Mirabel Baca, and brother, Simon Mirabel; and special friend, Danny Padilla. She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Romero Funeral Home Chapel with a Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. A Final Visitation will be held will be held on Monday, January 23 at 9:30 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment will take place on Tuesday, January 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John and Ronald Aragon, Gabriel, Aaron, and Julian Maldonado and Eddie Avila.
